Brand Launch: Vodafone, How Are You
In 2001, at W+K Amsterdam we introduced the Vodafone brand name across Europe in television, print and outdoor. We also created a place where people could respond to Vodafone’s question.
The How are you? site launched in ten different countries and offered a way for people to connect with others and to share the way they felt at any given moment. Whether they were feeling lost, groovy or in love.
People composed messages and sent them to friends. They also posted them on the site and viewed the messages sent in from others around the world.
We introduced Lostboy, Love, Groover and Jam. Anyone could get to know them and their friends better by eavesdropping on their voicemail.
There was no way to mess up in this world, no way to make mistakes. It was spontaneous, immediate and driven by impulse, just like most mobile phone conversations.
Nearly a million consumers visited the site to find Vodafone listening.
